Oregon Photo Diary

Friday, August 8, 2014 / ,

When Elijah and I ventured back to my hometown in Oregon, it was his first time ever in the state! We both absolutely love the Northwest, so I was thrilled that I could be there when he experienced Portland for the first time. Our first day in Oregon we got up and had a Greek yogurt breakfast with granola and peaches and then set off to downtown Portland! I took Elijah to Powell's and we bought TONS of books for ourselves and then some to give as gifts. He was quite overwhelmed by the size of the store. Then we met some of Elijah's friends from high school at a place called Little Big Burger and had lunch. Later on in the day Elijah and I walked to Northwest 23rd and had dinner at Bamboo Sushi which was, of course, delicious.
Friday we made our way to Cannon Beach and it was so incredibly windy! We had lunch at a restaurant overlooking haystack rock called Mo's where I had delicious clam chowder and beer battered halibut. Then we walked around to some of the shops and I bought some saltwater taffy from Bruce's Candy Kitchen and purchased my first pair of Birkenstocks
Saturday we headed over to the East side of the river and Elijah and I found a cool record store where I bought a Violent Femmes vinyl and a Conor Oberst vinyl. Then we went into this quirky paper store where I purchased patches for my backpack. After that, Elijah and I headed back over to the west side where we had lunch at a noodle place and I had shrimp mac & cheese. Then my Uncle Steve came over for dinner and we had salmon and then spent the night listening to Fleetwood Mac and looking through old photos of me when I was younger.
